Terms of use

My Auto Racer is free to use, needs no account, and sells nothing. These terms are short because there is not much to agree to.

What the figures are

Every figure on this site is simulated, not measured. Each car is modelled from its published kerb mass, rated power, drivetrain and gearing; the model is then fitted to that car's own published acceleration figures. Both cars in a race run in identical conditions, which is what makes the comparison fair — but no individual time is a timing slip, and a real car on a real day with real tyres and a real driver will do something else. Do not rely on these numbers for buying, insuring, modifying or valuing a vehicle.

Reusing the figures

The simulated figures — the times, the trap speeds and the power to weight derived from them — are published under CC BY 4.0. Reuse them anywhere, including commercially, as long as you credit My Auto Racer with a link. Please also say that the figures are simulated.

That grant covers the figures only. It does not cover the simulator that produces them, the writing on this site, or the 3D car models — many of which are other people's work used under their own licences, which we have no right to sublicense. Those are credited on the model credits page.

Names and badges

Marques, model names and manufacturer badges belong to their owners and appear here only to identify the cars. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any manufacturer.

The number plate lookup

Looking up a UK registration returns what the DVSA's MOT history service holds for that vehicle, which we use only to narrow a list of cars. It may be out of date or wrong, and it is not proof of anything about a vehicle. Look up registrations you have a reason to look up. What happens to the registration itself is in the privacy policy: in short, nothing is kept.

Driving

Race on a track. Nothing on this site is an instruction, an encouragement, or advice about how to drive on a public road.

What is not promised

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available, accurate or free of errors, and we are not liable for any loss arising from relying on it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited in law. If you think a figure is wrong, tell us — there is a correction link on every car page, and corrections get made.

Changes

These terms may change; the date below says when they last did. Questions can go through the correction link on any car page.
